Nicknamed ” The Joker” Marcus Stokes is always considered the ” Wild Card” when he steps on the field. He’s a duel threat quarterback with deceptive speed, who can get the ball down field to his targets. He makes lots of plays in crunch time and plays with tremendous confidence. Has played basketball at the high school level.
As predicted by Andre’ Ellis of DuvalSports.com Stokes had a tremendous breakout junior season for Nease. He led the Panthers to the playoffs with a 9-4 record, their first playoff win since 2008. He led the team in both passing and rushing yards tossing the pigskin for 2,672 yards with 22 touchdowns, while rushing for 496 yards with 6 touchdowns. He is a 2021-2022 Duval Sports Prime Time Player.
As a senior in 2022, threw for 1,867 yards on 136-of-248 (55 percent) with 13 TD … Also ran for 582 yards on 118 carries (4.9 ypr) and 13 TD. Stokes was ranked the #1 area quarterback by Duval Sports in 2023. Stokes committed to Florida July 7th after decommitting from Penn State in April of that year. He would sign with West Florida.
2023: Appeared in three games, earning a redshirt … Rushed six times for 57 yards and completed 3-of-4 passes for 53 yards. … Long rush of the season was a 30-yard scamper in the opener against Kentucky Wesleyan.
2024: Started in 8 games during the season… finished the season completing 112/209 passes with 1540 yards, 14 touchdowns.
2025: Passed for 3,297 yards passing…threw for 30 TDs…averaged 275 passing yards a game…rushed 82 times for 367 yards and 10 TDs
Stokes was the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
