He’s the top rated safety in Northeast Florida, the 5th ranked safety in the state of Florida, the 8th ranked player in Florida, and the 51st ranked player in the nation. Hylton Drake Stubbs combines, size, length, physicality, and ball skills to makeup a dynamic playmaker in the secondary for Mandarin. Stubbs as a freshman at Oakleaf burst on the scene with 51 tackles and 2 interceptions, one that he took back for a pick 6. He followed that up with an 84 tackle, 2 interception season with another pick 6 as a sophomore at Oakleaf.

Transferring to Mandarin in 2023, Stubbs amassed 1151 tackles and 8.5 sacks in two years. His 9 interceptions in two years at Mandarin is tops in that span. Amazingly, Stubbs has had a defensive touchdown every season of his high school career. Some of his 28 D-1 offers include Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Penn State.

Stubbs committed to USC in the spring 0f 2024 but flipped his commitment to Miami summer 2024. He decided on the University of Florida, signing early to play for the Gators.
