Trace Burney, Jr. wide receiver at Oakleaf was named first team FACA District 2 in 2025. On a team full of weapons, Burney burned defenses when given the chance. His game-winning catch versus Ed White serves as a signature play in a year that saw him make several, helping to lead the Knights to the playoffs.
At Fleming Island High School, he had a tremendous 2024 season. He hauled in 69 receptions for 1,158 yards—averaging 16.8 yards per catch—and led the area with 17 touchdown catches as the Golden Eagles advanced to the regional finals. His stellar performance vaulted his career totals to 1,791 receiving yards and 25 TDs through 24 varsity games, and saw him ranked 15th in the state in receiving yards.
For his career he had 3,650 Receiving Yards, and 41 Receiving Touchdowns. Next stop is James Madison University where the 3-sport athlete (Basketball, Track) will take his talents.
