The most dynamic freshman we’ve seen in Northeast Florida since DeAndre Johnson of First Coast is Brysen Wright. Wright, a standout sophomore wide receiver at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, enjoyed a dynamic debut in high school for the 2024 season. He hauled in 31 receptions for 646 yards—an impressive 20.8-yard average—and scored eight touchdowns across 11 varsity games, emerging as the team’s leading receiver.
Notable game performances included a four-catch, 115‑yard outing vs. Oakleaf and 81 yards vs. IMG Academy, showcasing his big-play ability and drawing attention from major college programs . Standing 6’4″ and tapped as a rising recruit he is the top WR of his class in the country. Wright took pressure off teammate 5-star Jaime Ffrench when teams doubled him, and still put up impressive numbers even though his starting quarterback went down early in the season.
As a sophomore Wright has already made national headlines with his play just two weeks into the 2025 season. Week 1, he had a TD reception and a 100-yard pick 6 versus Creekside. Week 2, he topped that performance with a TD reception, a punt return for a TD, and amazingly another 100-yard pick 6 versus Atlantic Coast. Both contests saw Wright make spectacular catches over defenders earning him Duval Sports Player of the Week for Week 2!
