Those might seem like bold words, but Davaughn Patterson is a bold player that backs up any and all bets on him. He’s a tenacious competitor, fierce hitter, and excellent tracker of the football in the air . He compliments it all with sheer athleticism and silent grit. His junior year was a coming out party for everyone who didn’t know who he was. He led the Commanders on defense with 88 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions and a sack. He combined that with offensive work, rushing for 351 yards on just 48 carries and 6 touchdowns, helping guide Ed White to the playoffs for the first time in 7 years.

Patterson lived up to those big bold expectations his Senior year. As a 2x Duval Sports Prime Time Player, Patterson followed up with a steller senior campaign rushing for 587 yards, 13 TDs while tallying 64 tackles on defense and 2 Ints.

Patterson committed to Wake Forest in the summer of 2022 and signed on December 21st 2022 on early signing day. He’s already garnered the praise of Wake Forest Head Coach Dave Clawson who said of Patterson ” It’s going to be real hard to keep that kid off the field, he won’t be redshirting this year”.
