The “Big Catt” was on the prowl for the Raines Vikings in 2023. Jyon Simon, affectionally known as “Big Catt” dominated on the Vikings defensive line registering 70 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks. What makes Simon special is his versatility. He has the ability to play Nose Tackle, Defensive Tackle, and Defensive End, affecting the rusher and passer from every angle.
The 2024 season saw the 6’3″ and 282 lb star record 67 tackles—including 33 solo—and notched 11 sacks, ranking among the top 1 in District 3A and top 80 statewide. He was a leader on a historic 13–0 Raines defense that allowed just 14.3 points per game and shut out opponents three times, anchoring the Vikings’ run to the Class 3A state championship game. Simon signed with Rutgers.
