Biography

Trace Burney, Jr. wide receiver at Fleming Island High School, had a tremendous 2024 season. He hauled in 69 receptions for 1,158 yards—averaging 16.8 yards per catch—and led the area with 17 touchdown catches as the Golden Eagles advanced to the regional finals. His stellar performance vaulted his career totals to 1,791 receiving yards and 25 TDs through 24 varsity games, and saw him ranked 15th in the state in receiving yards. Standing just 5’8″ and 160 lb, Burney’s explosive play making earned him top recognition across St. Johns County and put him on the radar of college recruiters around the country. He showed up big in many different areas and look for his name to get even bigger this year after being recognized as a First Team Duval Sports Prime Time Player.
