Duval Sports D1 Power Rankings: The Undefeated Are Still Running The Table In Week 8

The race for the top spot in Northeast Florida high school football continues as the season moves deeper into October. Only a few teams changed positions, but the ones that did change experienced big wins last week. Check out week 8 rankings.

1. Raines Vikings — 6-0

Raines stays No. 1 after a statement 20-17 victory over Venice. The Vikings built a 20-3 lead before holding off the comeback. Defensive standout Troy Butler helped lead the effort, while the special teams blocked three field goals, including a late attempt that could have tied the game.

Week 8: at Bishop Kenny.

2. Bradford Tornadoes — 7-0

Bradford dominated Gainesville Eastside 53-14, remaining undefeated. Quarterback Cy Cubbedge threw five touchdown passes, including three to Kaidrin Jackson. Caiden Carn added an interception return for a touchdown.

Week 8: at Newberry.

3. Columbia Tigers — 7-0

Columbia continued its undefeated season with a 51-28 win over Manatee. Quarterback Amari Green threw for 368 yards, while Kyren Caldwell caught two touchdown passes and finished with 152 receiving yards. Jaylon Willis also caught two touchdown passes.

Week 8: Bye.

4. Ed White Commanders — 5-1

Ed White won a dramatic contest against Oakleaf, 21-18, overcoming a 10-0 deficit and losing quarterback King Boylston to an apparent leg injury. Vedo Jones, King Mercer and Rontrez Loyd scored touchdowns, while receiver Mike Hinson stepped in at quarterback to help guide the comeback.

Week 8: at Ribault.

5. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets — 6-0

St. Augustine was idle in Week 7 but remains undefeated. In its previous game, the Yellow Jackets defeated Clay 37-13. The defense, including Mason Lynch, helped maintain the team’s strong start.

Week 8: at Ridgeview.

6. Bolles Bulldogs — 4-1

Bolles had a Week 7 bye. In its previous outing, the Bulldogs defeated Baldwin 58-10. Running back Xander Edwards scored three touchdowns, while defensive back Jaxon Flowers recorded three interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

Week 8: vs. KIPP Bold City.

7. Mandarin Mustangs — 5-1

Mandarin bounced back from its earlier loss to Raines by defeating Lake Mary 33-17. Running back Shaunqueze Foster scored twice, while quarterback Knox Annis connected with Brysen Wright, Will Jones and Jace Kemp for touchdown receptions. Wright also recovered a fumble on defense.

Week 8: at Ponte Vedra.

8. Trinity Christian Conquerors — 3-4

Trinity Christian fell to Carrollwood Day 63-21. The Conquerors faced one of the state’s strongest Class 1A programs and struggled to contain Carrollwood Day’s high-powered offense. Individual statistical leaders from the game were not confirmed in the available recap.

Week 8: Bye.

9. University Christian Fighting Christians — 6-2

UC earned a major 24-7 victory over Florida High in Week 7. Jacoby Walker scored on a 90-yard touchdown, while Kyree Wilson and Jake Contner also found the end zone. Defensively, Harlem Livingston intercepted two passes, and Zion Davis added another interception. UC then defeated Williston 59-6 on Thursday.

Week 8: Played at Williston on Thursday; won 59-6.

10. Oakleaf Knights — 3-3

Oakleaf dropped a close game to Ed White, 21-18. T.J. James scored a touchdown to help the Knights take a second-quarter lead, but Oakleaf couldn’t hold off the Commanders’ second-half rally.

Week 8: at Ocala Forest.


11. Fletcher Senators — 4-2

Fletcher had a Week 7 bye after losing to Mandarin 31-10 in Week 6. Quarterback Ty Keister and receiver Chase Durden connected for Fletcher’s touchdown in that game.

Week 8: vs. Nease.

12. Bartram Trail Bears — 6-1

Bartram Trail was off in Week 7 after a 34-16 victory over Ponte Vedra in Week 6. Freshman running back Blake Soares rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns in that win. The Bears returned Thursday and defeated Beachside 33-26.

Week 8: Played at Beachside on Thursday; won 33-26.

13. Creekside Knights — 4-2

Creekside entered Week 8 after a Week 7 bye. The Knights’ previous game was a 49-10 victory over Sandalwood, in which the offense produced its highest point total of the season. Creekside then shut out Atlantic Coast 46-0 on Thursday. Individual standouts from Thursday’s game were not confirmed in the available results.

Week 8: Played Atlantic Coast on Thursday; won 46-0.

14. Nease Panthers — 3-3

Nease picked up an impressive 49-14 win over Riverside. The Panthers’ offense produced 259 rushing yards and 232 passing yards. Quarterback Aiden Phifer threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns, while Enrique Ordoñez led the ground game.

Week 8: at Fletcher.

15. Baker County Wildcats — 5-2

Baker County entered Week 8 after a bye, with its previous game a 14-10 loss to Godby. The Wildcats responded Thursday by shutting out Suwannee 42-0. The individual leaders from Thursday’s win were not confirmed in the available recap.

16. Ponte Vedra Sharks — 2-4

17. Middleburg Broncos — 4-2

Middleburg had a Week 7 bye after defeating Ridgeview 42-8 in Week 6. Freshman running back Khaden Robinson rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns in that victory. The Broncos now return to action against Orange Park.

Week 8: vs. Orange Park.

18. West Nassau Warriors — 6-0-1

West Nassau continued its impressive season with a 49-12 win over Providence. The Warriors entered Week 8 undefeated with one tie, then prepared for a challenging Saturday matchup against undefeated West Deptford, New Jersey.

Week 8: vs. West Deptford, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 10.

19. Fleming Island Golden Eagles — 3-3

Fleming Island had a Week 7 bye after its 49-24 win over Orange Park in Week 6. Brady Digman led that victory with 159 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Golden Eagles now face Clay in a key Clay County matchup.

Week 8: vs. Clay.

20. Bishop Kenny Crusaders — 2-3

Bishop Kenny bounced back with a 35-6 win over Menendez. The Crusaders improved their record ahead of a major challenge against top-ranked Raines. The available recap confirmed the result but did not provide verified individual leaders from the game.

21. Ribault Trojans — 5-1

24. NFEI Eagles — 3-3
