Antonio Clary

Antonio Clary has been a leader on the field at each level of play. A passionate player, who brings toughness, tenacity, and teaching to game tape. Earned his seventh varsity letter at Virginia this year, the most of any player in program history.

Clary finished his Cavalier Career with 4 interceptions. Made his first collegiate start at No. 11 Miami (10/24), where he finished with seven tackles and 0.5 sacks. Made eight tackles and recorded his first career interception on Oct. 8 against Louisville. The 26-yard return on the interception was the longest by a Cavalier in 2022. Went over the 200-tackle mark for his career, as well as notching his second win against rival Virginia Tech. The first player since 1998 to do so.

At Sandalwood, Clary played safety, wide receiver, and even running back. He finished his senior season (2018) with 53 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and three interceptions … earned first-team All- District, all-conference honoree as a sophomore … also ran track.

Clary was one of the best players to come out of Northeast Florida. Defined by his work ethic, he overcame adversity with injuries at Virginia to still help lead his team to a Bowl game in UVA’s best season in decades. Clary stands as a consummate model of professionalism, and a player with untapped potential driven by unrivaled purpose.
