Jacob Curry is a destructive defensive force for the Nease Panthers, combining physicality, instincts, and production. He was named Duval Sports Week 8 Player of the Week following a dominant performance against Bartram Trail High School, where he logged 4 sacks, 15 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss (TFLs), and a pass breakup in a defensive shutdown of the Bears. In that same game, Nease blanked Bartram Trail 10-0, with Curry leading the defensive effort.
Over the current season, he has continued to produce at a high level. He’s totaled 65 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks by mid-season. In prior seasons, he has shown consistency — for example, in 2024 he posted 101 tackles, 12 TFLs, 8 sacks, 7 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery, earning honors such as St. Augustine Record’s All-County Defensive Player of the Year.
Curry’s versatility is a major asset: having made him an intriguing prospect for collegiate programs. On October 12, 2025, Curry committed to the Oklahoma Sooners, selecting a Power Five program as his next step. The commitment is a validation of his steady production, leadership, and projected upside at the next level.
Looking ahead, Curry is expected to be a difference-maker in college, especially in schemes that value hybrid defenders who can rush the passer, cover tight ends or slot receivers, and play physically against the run. As he closes out his high school career, his highlight performances will continue as he helps his team advance to the playoffs.
