King Johnson

King Johnson put his team on his back in a 2023  week 6 match up against Ribault, as he guided Jackson to a thrilling come from behind victory over the Trojans. Trailing 14-6 in the 3rd quarter, Johnson threw a touchdown pass to Brandon Dew to bring Jackson to within 2- points of Ribault 14-12. Trailing 20-12 in the fourth, he then tossed another touchdown, this time to Tay’vion Lawson to bring the Tigers closer again 20-18. Johnson would showcase his touch. and accuracy throwing a 2-point conversion to Malachi Pierce to tie the score at 20-20 in the fourth quarter.

Then with only seconds left in the game tied at 20-20, Johnson would drop back to pass, scamble to his right and fight his way into the endzone for the game winning touchdown, to the eruption of his teammates, cheerleaders and Tiger faithful. Johnson finised that game with 2 touchdown passes, and a touchdown run against Ribault. He tallied 72 yards passing and 150 yards rushing, earning the Duval Sports Week 6 Player Of  The Week!

Johnson passed for 1667 yards, 11 TDs while rushing for 300 yards and 4 TDs his  junior season. Also had 4 INTs on defense.

In addition to football, he was added to the school’s varsity basketball roster and also competed in baseball.

Johnson signed with Edward Waters University in 2026. Before that he was on the Jacksonville Mocs.
