Trevyn Smith

An athlete to watch closely, and whose time has arrived is defensive back Trevyn Smith of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. Smith combines experience and athleticisim to make for a complete defensive back in one of the historically premier defensive backfields in the country. He has great size for the position and has a knack for being around the football. With an opportunity to start for a full season, Smith’s stats to exploded in 2022. 47 Tackles, 1.5 sacks,6 PD, 1 FR. With an offer from Duke and is listed on Rivals.com (unraked). Duval Sports ranks him as a potential 3-star recruit from Northeast Florida. Smith committed Catawba College.

Before joining WVSU Football, Trevyn Smith played junior college (JUCO) football at Louisburg College. He earned All-American honors during his time there.

He is known as a highly versatile defensive back. He has extensive film playing free safety, strong safety, nickel back, and outside boundary cornerback. Coaches expect him to be an immediate impact player for the Yellow Jackets. During a recent 9-week stretch in his JUCO season, he recorded
