Week 6 St. Johns County Middle School rankings

With just four weeks left in the regular season a lot is still to be decided in the St. Johns County Middle School Athletic Association.

Two crucial games this week will decide the top four standings as No. 2 Fruit Cove and No. 1 Gamble Rogers meet today at 7 at Plantation Park, a day later No. 3 Liberty Pines and No. 4 Switzerland Point meet at 5 p.m. at Bartram Trail.

Week 6 rankings

1. Gamble Rogers (6-0) – The Stingrays won two games in four days last week with a nail biting 20-14 win over University Christian and then a 38-0 win over Valley Ridge on Saturday.

2. Fruit Cove (5-0) – Flyers looked slow early on but turned it on in the second quarter to pound Sebastian 50-0 last week to remain at two.

3. Liberty Pines (5-0) – Liberty Pines made history with its 40-12 win over host Pacetti Bay last week, winning its fifth game straight game of the season.

4. Swiss Point (4-1) – Swiss Point won their fourth in a row with a 30-6 win over Murray to remain at three this week.

5. Landrum (2-3) – Landrum got a huge 6-0 win over Patriot Oaks in a nail biting win to remain five. Look for the Lions to get on a roll now.

6. Patriot Oaks (1-4) – Despite the loss to Landrum, the Chargers gave the Lions all they could handle and for that were rewarded with moving up one spot this week.

7. Pacetti Bay (1-4) – The Wildcats played well for the most part despite getting drilled by No. 3 Liberty Pines 40-12.

8. Murray (1-4) – Murray continues to be a jeckle and hyde type of team, the Bulldogs hung with Swiss Point in a 29-6 loss last week.

9. Valley Ridge (1-4) – The Hawks took a step back with a 38-0 loss to Gamble Rogers on Saturday.

10. Sebastian (0-5) – The Eagles continue to struggle each week but don’t give up either despite a 50-0 loss to Fruit Cove.
