Fleming Island Bests Ridgeview to Improve to 4-0

Ridgeview HS- Friday’s football match-up between Fleming Island and Ridgeview High School was one between Clay county rivals. Fleming Island would go on to win the game 33-3 to improve to 4-0 on the season. Ridgeview put up a valiant effort, however the Panthers were overwhelmed by the play making ability of the Golden Eagles.

Coach Damenyum Springs has Fleming Island on the right track this year with a very young team. Ridgeview falls to 0-4 on the season, leaving questions for Coach Matt Knauss and his staff on how to get a win this year. Gleason’s coverage included key takeaways from the game below.

  • Ridgeview’s kicker Austin Leonard puts them on the board first. 3-0. 
  •  Eagles QB SR. #1 Dean Hyams throws TD passes.  Eagles RB #25 Sam
  • Freshman RB Sam Singleton showed great strength throughout the game with many carries for the team, plus scoring a TD for the Eagles and only being a freshman this year. Sam is a 2019 Duval Sports Middle School Top 50 Athlete.   
  • Eagles WR #2 Kaleb Seybolt unsettled the Panthers with the first TD of the night making it 10-3, as he added to the game with some great rushes as well.  
  • Panthers try to hang on throughout the night recovering a lot of fumbles and missed catches but couldn’t get into the endzone.
  • Eagles RB # 15 TK Kocak scored three TD’s
  •  # 8 Glendon Miller ran the ball and made a lot of catches
  • #21 Reynaldo Gonzalez, standout playmaker
  • #18 Josh Dorsainvill standout playmaker
  • OLB #33 Freshman Jhace Edwards scored a touchdown (Duval Sports Middle School Top 50 2019
  • Eagles won 33-3 over the Panthers.
