This is our second week in doing the Duval Sports Ratings and there are several players moving up and down in the ratings. In fact, this week reveals our first 99 rating of the year. Plus, this is the first week we reveal our defensive ratings for Northeast Florida. So check it out!
What the Duval Sports Ratings Are…..
So to give an accurate assessment of players here in Northeast Florida, Duval Sports has combined several different player metrics and factors to come of with our very own Duval Sports Player Ratings. Similar to the video game Madden, and NBA 2K, these ratings are designed to rate a player’s impact on the game through several competing factors.
We’ve selected some of the top quarterbacks, running-backs, wide receivers, and defensive players to rate. These ratings are based on their mid-season stats reported by coaches, athletic ability observed by Duval Sports corespondents, experience in playing varsity football, and strength of opponents.
These ratings will fluctuate each week based on advances of players stats, opponents, and overall play. Just as in the video games, ratings will rise and fall each week based on their play. Players not mentioned also have the chance to be added to the list.
Let’s be clear, this is not a recruiting tool, it’s an all around assessment of players and their progress through the second half of the high school football season here in Northeast Florida. So check em out, and remember if you don’t like the rating, you can change it by the play on the field!
