The 2020 High School football season almost didn’t happen with the Covid-19 pandemic impacting our world. However after the FHSAA voted to approve the start of the season in August, practice began August 24th and teams scrambled to put together complete schedules. We preview teams, and schedules leading up to the official first week of the season on September 11th.
NFEI Eagles (North Florida Educational Institute)
Head Coach Franchot Allen
Franchot Allen takes over an NFEI team that has had five head coaches in five years. Allen is excited for the opportunity to build a winning program, similar to the one he experienced as a player at Trinity Christian Academy. In order to achieve success, Allen must trust his staff. One way to solve that is to bring on your brother to coordinate the offense. The Eagles are looking to build cohesiveness and make it an all around family affair.

Nyiar Smith TE/ DT 2021
A smart and aggressive player, Smith is the leader of the offensive line and defensive lines.
Joshua Ealey QB 2021
Ealey comes over from Nease last year where he played linebacker for the Panthers tallying 54 tackles. College football programs like Bowling Green and Stetson have offered the talented senior He now focuses his attention on quarterback and play making ability using his speed and elusiveness to compliment his arm.
Larry Tould ATH 2021
An explosive player, Larry Tould can take it to the house with the quickness. Get him in space either on special teams or on offense and he’ll make you pay.
Ramauri Simpson ATH 2021
A dynamic play maker who can play both sides of the field. He’s aggressive and brings a spark to their team along with a swagger.

NFEI (1-0) started the 2020 season with a big win over Providence 42-13. Coach Allen got his first win of the season, with an aggressive blitzing defense and open play making offense. That’s a winning combination the Eagles hope they can repeat each week.
