There was one theme across Northeast Florida on National Signing Day 2021, a sigh of relief. With the covid-19 pandemic ravaging the country, one of the hardest areas affected indirectly has been college football recruiting. A dead period restricted college coaches from visiting high schools, and many camps were cancelled last summer due to the pandemic. On top of this, many collegiate athletes were able to opt out of their 2020 year and keep eligibility in college, which put a cap on the number of scholarships schools had to offer this year. This created a log jam as 2021 high school athletes saw offers pulled, or in some cases no offers at all. Yet with all those challenges many athletes still found a home to fulfil their dreams of playing college football. Here’s a rundown of the recent signings.
