Volleyball: James Weldon Johnson Wins Over Stilwell Middle

James Weldon Johnson Middle- It’s been a great season for Middle School Volleyball and James Weldon Johnson is having a great season. At 4-1, Coach Gianna Pryor and company are balling and besting the competition. Intheir most recent contest, James Weldon defeated Wolfson to continue their winning season.

Eight grader Tremyiah Edwards has kept the the team positive and energetic all season as a leader. Melanie Carey is very versatile, able to do many things on the court even as a 7th grader. Tara Sigulin is an all around complete player, something she’s learned and looks to past down to the 7th and 6th graders on the team. It’s one of the reasons the team has been so successful.

Stilwell fell to James Weldon last week, but the team is still having fun. Coach Niccole Thompson has put a lot into teaching the girls fundamentals while having fun. Abigaile Johnson and Kyra Jackson have led the team this year.

Wins are certainly the goal for each game, but for the players, learning and laughter with your teammates lasts forever.
