Bartram Routes Creekside In Playoff Rematch, Rolls To Round 3

St Johns Fl- It was the rematch all of St Johns County greatly anticipated, Creekside versus Bartram. These rivals resumed a battle won by Bartram in the regular season 59-27 on October 14th. Yet tonight, just a month later, Bartram Trail (11-0) came into the contest unbeaten against Creekside, and eager to make history. Before the opening kickoff history was already made, as this was the first time these two neighbors met in the playoffs in both school history.

Bartram would build a 28-0 lead over Creekside thanks to another offensive explosion by Laython Biddle and the weapons for the Bears. Biddle would score three of the first four touchdowns in the game, all on running plays. It was his 15-yard run that set off the chain of points by Bartram that gave them an insurmountable lead throughout the game.

Adding to the touchdown tally was quarterback Riley Trujillo and wide receiver Taylor Rhodes, who hooked up for a touchdown connection in the first half as well, and the route was on.

Trujillo would close out the scoring on a 42-yard touchdown run. He added a rushing touchdown to his passing touchdown earlier in the game, showing why he is one of the most dangerous quarterbacks to defend. Biddle rushed for four touchdowns in the game, as Bartram rolled in their second round playoff contest 42-15.

Creekside (9-3) would get on the board when Sean Ashenfelder found Hampton Riedl for a touchdown. The Knights would add to the score when Wilson Edwards tossed a touchdown to Ashton Reynolds. However, it was too little too late, as Bartram took home the victory. Bartram (12-0) will now face Buchholz in a rematch from earlier in the season in the Class 4S Regional Final. Buchholz(9-2) defeated Crestview 54-33 in their regional quarterfinal game.
