Northeast Florida- Well the national championship has concluded, and so has the Duval Sports Middle School Football Championship game. Similar to the national championship game, the middle school championship was a blowout as well.
We saw four of the best teams in Northeast Florida clash in our first ever middle school bowl playoff. #3 Gamble Rogers defeated #2 Baker County to advance in the four team playoff. They would face #4. University Christian who defeated #1 Lake Shore in the first round.
Over 8,000 votes were cast for all four teams, and in the end Gamble Rogers won the championship over University Christian in resounding fashion. There’s no doubt that the Stingrays are the cream of the crop in middle school football. With four St. Johns County Middle School Athletic Association championships, the Stingrays are a powerhouse program not only in St. John’s County, but in all of Northeast Florida.
We’ve covered several championship teams and players over the years, and the 2022 championship squad proved to be one of the best yet. With several great coaches, players, and parents, the team is fueled by the the community and the dedication of everyone that supports them. A true model of excellence, for other programs around Northeast area to immulate their championship success.
