Northeast Fl- The Baldwin baseball team took on some tough competition in the Baseball Gauntlet and came out strong, finishing with a 2-1 record. They battled hard in each game, showing off solid pitching, timely hitting, and clutch performances. Here’s a look at how things went down.

Baldwin Edges University Christian in a Thriller
On February 25th, Baldwin pulled off a nail-biting 3-2 win over University Christian, handing them just their second loss of the season (5-2). The game was a true pitchers’ duel, but Baldwin found a way to come out on top.

Caden Worbington was on fire for University Christian, collecting four hits, but it wasn’t enough. Maxwell Gallagher and Matt Johnson each delivered a hit and an RBI for Baldwin, helping the Indians scratch across just enough runs. Kaeson Johns secured the win on the mound, while Chase Staley kept University Christian’s bats in check with an impressive seven strikeouts.

Indians Shut Out Englewood
Two days later, Baldwin turned up the heat, blanking Englewood 5-0 and improving to 6-2 on the season. Englewood, who came into the game at 5-1, struggled to get anything going against Baldwin’s pitching.

Drew Harmon led the way offensively with two hits and an RBI, while Maxwell Gallagher added two RBIs of his own. On the base paths, Josh Jordan and Mason Williams showed off their speed with stolen bases. Meanwhile, Mac Johnson was dominant on the mound, striking out six batters and keeping Englewood scoreless.

High-Scoring Battle Ends in Baldwin Loss to Bolles
Baldwin’s lone loss in the Gauntlet came against a powerhouse Bolles team, who improved to 7-1 with a 15-9 victory. It was an offensive showdown, with both teams putting up big numbers.

Bolles’ James McCranie and Gabe Gonzalez each blasted home runs, with Gonzalez driving in two runs. Will Arndt and Jaxon Flowers chipped in with two RBIs each. Jaxson Richter earned the win for Bolles, striking out five batters.

Despite the loss, Baldwin’s bats stayed hot. Mason Williams led the charge with three hits and three RBIs, while Chase Staley added two hits and three RBIs of his own. It wasn’t enough to keep up with Bolles’ explosive offense, but the Braves showed they can compete with top teams.

Baldwin Moving Forward
After their strong showing in the Gauntlet, Baldwin now sits at 6-3 on the season with a solid 0.262 team batting average. With key players stepping up and their pitching staff delivering strong performances, the Indians look ready to keep rolling.
