Paxon Baseball Rolls to Victory, Eyes Historic Start

The Paxon Golden Eagles are on a roll! With a strong 14-4 victory over Covenant School of Jacksonville, they have improved their record to 6-2 on the season. This hot start brings back memories of 2018, when Paxon kicked off the season 7-2. Can they match or even beat that mark? Fans are hopeful, and the team is looking confident.

Robinson and Ward Lead the Charge

Senior Caleb Robinson had a big game, collecting three hits to bring his season total to six. Meanwhile, junior Robert Ward delivered two hits and drove in three runs, giving him seven hits so far this season. Paxon’s offense is firing on all cylinders, and their depth at the plate is showing.

Emery Dominates on the Mound

Zach Emery got the win for Paxon, striking out four batters. That brings his season strikeout total to 13. But he’s not the only pitcher making noise. Dominic Craig has been a force on the mound this season, racking up an impressive 25 strikeouts. With arms like these, Paxon is proving to be a tough team to face.

A Deep Lineup

Paxon’s hitters are stepping up all across the board. Here’s a look at some of their top performers this season:

  • Sophomore Javon Johnson – 6 hits
  • Senior Jaquez Jackson – 6 hits
  • Junior Ethan Gomez – 6 hits
  • Michael Belcher – 7 hits
  • Junior Robert Bryson – 9 hits

With this kind of production, it’s no wonder the Golden Eagles have picked up big wins this year, including victories over Terry Parker (4-2), Ed White (25-6), Riverside (16-5), Eagles View (9-8), and Stanton (12-2). From seniors like Jaquez Jackson to sophomores like Javon Johnson, Paxon as experience and exuberance which has led to their unique ability to play the bases.

Robert Bryson leads the team with 13 stolen bases. Ethan Gomez with 11, Michael Belcher with 11, Jackson with 10, Gonzalez with 9, Johnson with 8 and Ward with 7. Four others have multiple stolen bases on the year, making anyone a threat at anytime once on base. A dangerous team on a mission.

Big Game Coming Up

Next up, Paxon faces off against Ribault at the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Ballpark on Monday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. This is a huge game for the Golden Eagles as they look to continue their winning streak. Coach Tipton has the team locked in and ready to go.

With the way Paxon has been playing, this season could turn into something special. The Golden Eagles are soaring high!
