Flag Football Top 25 Final Power Rankings And Playoff Previews

1.Bradford (12-2)– Coming in at #1 to end the Flag football regular season is Bradford County. Led by the sensational junior quarterback Arnayshia Griffin, who has passed for 3,000 yards and 33 TDs. She’s also run for 8 scores. On defense she may be even better with 20 interceptions! Senior RB Nichelle Brown has 2,096yds receiving and 35 total TDs. Bradford has been able to put up big numbers this year in a high powered offense.

They’ve scored a 51-0 win over Kipp, a 36-6 win over Ridgeview, and a 34-0 win over Suwannee. They don’t necessarily have a deep roster, but it’s undeniably evident that they are an extremely talented team. They defeated Florida High and Ed White both who are top teams, and their only loss came to state power Florida High and 11-2 Buchholz. The district 1-4 champs playoff opponent will be Keystone Heights. As stated in the mid-season power rankings, that this team had a chance to shoot to the top… well head coach John Staples and company have arrived.

2. Clay (12-0)– The Blue Devils navigated an undefeated season, the only team to play at least 10 games and achieve the feat in Northeast Florida. Led by QB Teaghan Moses, WR Yuliana GarciaWR Cora Parker and WR Charlotte Andrus, Clay got big wins over playoffs teams like Fleming Island, and Dunnellon. They won the 2A-5 district championship, defeating Ridgeview 7-6. They’re first round matchup features the 10-5 Jones Tigers out of Orlando.


3. Fletcher (14-2)– Fletcher has played one of the hardest schedules in the area, taking on Stanton, Ponte Vedra, Paxon, Mandarin, Fleming Island and Ed White. They are battle tested, and the Senators are gaining momentum at the right time headed to the playoffs. Captains Jasmine Cross (38TDs) is a candidate for Jaguars player of the year. Racheal McCroy (9 TDs, 12 sacks) and Helena Jeager (4 TDs) have helped lead them to a Gateway Conference championship, and District Championship this year. Arabella Thomas ( 9TDs, 5 INTs) is another dynamic weapon on a very dangerous team that’s won 9 straight. They defeated Fleming Island, then Bartram Trail to win the district. They’ll run it back against Fleming Island in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.


4. Fleming Island (11-3)– At 11-3 Fleming Island once again is one of the best teams in Northeast Florida led by head coach Clint Lyons who recently achieved 100 wins for his career. Their only losses this year came at the hands of playoff teams New Symrna Beach (11-5), Clay (12-0), and Fletcher (14-2). Senior quarterback Devon Dudones (27 TDs) leads a young and hungry group of Golden Eagles including, junior LB Daisy Fletcher (81 tackles), sophomores WR Emily Poucher (8 INTs/ 14 TDs), and RB Audrey Ellis (5TDs/ 5 INTs), and freshman DB Seven Gourdet (4 TDs). Defense has been their hallmark, holding 11 of their 14 opponents to one score or less in regulation. Fleming Island has wins over playoff teams like Mandarin, Paxon, Ed White, Keystone and Bartram. A rematch with Fletcher is on the horizon in the first round of the playoffs.


5. Mandarin (12-5)– The Mustangs are once again 4A-1 district champions defeating Tocoi Creek 19-11. One of the top programs in the area, Mandarin is led by junior Reese Holman (15 TDs). Powerhouse Alonzo, Fletcher, Yulee, Bartram, and Fleming Island are the only teams to best them. While they have defeated Baldwin, Baker County Atlantic Coast, and St. Augustine with talent and tenacity. They’ve leaned on quarterback Grace Brown who’s passed for 2103yds and 22 TDs. Shadae Reid whose rushed for 3 TDs, and WR Bridget Martinez who has over 1,000 yards receiving and 7 TDs. Mandarin hosts 11-6 Deland.


6. Ed White (12-5)– It was a 3-Peat for the Commanders as Ed White defeated Riverside 27-7 to punch their ticket to the Class 2A State playoffs. The talented QB Kara Jackson (30 TDs/ 7 INTs), WR Ariel Campbell (10 TDs/ 7 INTs), WR Zykeria Luellen (13 TDs), Carlincea Dillon (35 sacks) and WR Amera Bossard have powered their wins. They started the season with three consecutive shut-outs with wins of 32-0 over Raines, 25-0 over Baldwin, and 18-0 over Middleburg. Some highs and lows this season include a 21-0 win over Paxon. But they also fell to Fletcher twice and Fleming Island. Still, this team is riding district title momentum into the playoffs as they host 8-6 Godby (Tallahassee).


7. Bartram Trail (13-5)– Bartram Trail has had one of the best second halves of flag football in Northeast Florida. Quarterback Kaila Pierce (3,09yds, 39 TDs), RB Layla Davis (677yds Rec), WR Bralynne McDonald (7 TDs), Lily Holden (14 TDs) and WR Riley Abelon (7 TDs) lead a squad who has navigated six wins in on extremely tough schedule. They defeated Bishop Snyder last night, and defeated St. Augustine, and Menendez earlier in the season. Fleming Island, Ponte Vedra, Fletcher and Spruce Creek were top area opponents that the Bears played tough but fell to. Still, their talent and toughness is reason why they are a playoff team and district runners up. They face #1 seeded Pace on the road in the playoffs.


8. University Christian (9-0)– The district 1A-3 champions are the University Christian fightin’ Christians. Head Coach Matthew Gregory led his team to nine wins in their inaugural FHSAA season, defeating Andrew Jackson 13-6 to win the district. Quarterback Elissa Murdock has tossed 23 TDs and rushed for 7. Jahkaylah Robinson (9TDs/ 9 sacks/ 8 Ints), Abbey Mehm (7 TDs), and MJ Bishop (6 TDs ) have been instrumental to the team’s first year success. They will host 5-5 Newberry in the first round of the playoffs.


9. Ponte Vedra (13-2)– Winners of twelve straight games including in the district tournament, Ponte Vedra was one of the hottest teams in Florida. Tocoi Creek, Bartram, Fletcher, and Davenport have all been devoured by the Sharks this year. With 33 passing TDs and 5 rushing TDs, Izzy Murray (QB) has shown that she is one of the best in Northeast Florida. Peyton Gruver (779yds Rec/ 6 TDs), WR Julia Conroy (15 TDs), and WR Taylor Burke (666yds, 8 TDs), have been play makers for Ponte Vedra. The Sharks had a slip up against Bartram in the Class 3A-3 District Semifinal, but still made the playoffs. Their reward is traveling to 11-0 Oviedo.


10. Paxon (9-5) -Rounding out our Top 10 is another District Champion the Paxon Golden Eagles. Paxon defeated Yulee 18-12 to win the Class 2A-3 District Championship. Quarterback Elyanna Perez (19 total TDs), WR Caelyn Carter (6 TDs/ 4 INTs), Nina Kamma-Hill (6 TDs), DB Ana Rogers, and Treasure Curry (3 INTs) have stepped up big for them. They’ve put together impressive wins against Stanton, Suwannee, and Wolfson. Heartbreakers to Fleming Island and Fletcher as well as a loss to state powerhouse Alonzo makeup their three of their losses. They took down Baldwin, fell to Ed White and Tocoi Creek, before defeating Sandalwood and going on a four game win streak into the playoffs. Paxon hosts 8-9 Fort Walton Beach in the first round of the playoffs.

11. Tocoi Creek (8-6)*

The Toros have had an amazing year as a school. Both boys and girls basketball teams made it to the Final 4 in Lakeland. Now their flag football team advanced to the playoffs after winning 8 games including 4 of their last 5 games. Head Coach Adam Curry leads his team into the playoffs versus 16-0 Spruce Creek.

12. Stanton (9-6)*

Stanton and head coach Cliff Collins has once again done a great job with the Stanton Flag football team guiding the girls to the class 2A playoffs. Stanton will face Yulee, a team they defeated 13-12 earlier in the season.

Key Players: Aiyanna Smiley (19 Total TDs), Catherine Brewer (12 total TDs/ 15 INTs), Laila Cromity 21 sacks


13. Yulee (12-4)*

It was a high powered year for Yulee’s offense as they put up points in a major way. They put up 67 points on a team this year and averaged 23.2ppg. Coach Latoya Patterson will look to get revenge over Stanton, a team they fell to in their regular season contest. Now, they meet ion the first round of the playoffs.


14. Ridgeview (6-5)

Key Players: Narissa Blocton, Nacoya Blocton, Taniya Booker


15. Suwannee (10-7)*

Head Coach Marisley Leal leads the Lady Bulldogs to the playoffs after winning the Class 1A-2 district championship over Baldwin 18-7. They will host Santa Fe in the first round.

Key Players: Jessica Tran, Brandy Robinson, Tor’lanedria Ross


16. Baldwin(6-9)

Key Players: Key Players: Halle Bennie 11 Total TDs, Charlotte Minnon 9 TDs, Memphis Perkins 62 tackles


17. Oakleaf (6-6)


18. Atlantic Coast (7-8)

Key Players: Amerikus Aguilar (20 TDs), Kylie Johnson (3 TDs), Kamiyah Malone (5 TDs/ 7 INTs)


19. Riverside (8-7)

Key Players: Ezira Ward QB (17 TDs), Kennis Gray WR (12 TDs), Kassidy Wagner


20. Andrew Jackson (8-9)*

Jackson advanced to the Class 1A playoffs after an awesome regular season. Wins over Orange Park, Ribault and Raines highlighted their year. They navigated a difficult schedule with playoff teams like Ed White and University Christian. They are battle tested and will be entering a true battle against state power Florida State High (FSU).

Key Players: Deziya Byrd 9 TDs, 4 INTs / Araniya Riggins 12 passing TDs and 4 Rush TDs, Hannah Bartley 21 sacks
