Jaguars Elite Extends To Eight Programs As Athletes Sign Contracts At Media Day

The 2025–26 Jaguars Elite Girls Flag Football Team is the latest chapter in Jacksonville Jaguars–sponsored girls flag football, a growing tradition backed by the Jaguars Foundation (Jaguars Prep). Jaguars Prep held a media day and contract signing for the 2025-2026 Girls Flag Football Teams this past Friday, the first of it’s kind.

Adriel Rocha, Vice President of Community Impact and Football Development has been an intricate part of the expansion of the program. Said Rocha at the contract signings, “of course other teams have flag programs such as the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, and L.A Chargers, but what makes this so unique to Jacksonville is the launch of eight programs”.

In late summer 2025, the Foundation again hosted its annual Girls Flag Preseason Classic, where over 625 elite high school athletes gathered to showcase their skills in front of college coaches and Jaguars talent evaluators. Standout players were selected for the Elite Girls squad, a regional all-star team that continues the legacy of past Jaguars All‑Prep honorees.

Historically, the Jaguars Elite program has featured past All‑Prep Top 25 players—as selected each year by the Jaguars and High School Football America—including athletes such as recent honorees like Jasmine Cross from Fletcher High School, who earned Player of the Year, and coach John Staples of Bradford, who was named Coach of the Year for 2025. Alumni of those teams have gone on to play at elite prep schools, earn college scholarships, and even participate in national flag‑football tryouts.

The 2025–26 Elite Girls 17U roster includes athletes such as Ponte Vedra’s Izzy Murray and Kyra Jackson of Ed White, as well as dynamic quarterbacks and receivers chosen from the statewide try‑outs at the Jaguars Elite‑hosted camps.

Under the leadership of these top athletes, the 2025–26 Elite Girls team is preparing to compete in several upcoming flag‑football tournaments, including the 2026 NFL FLAG Youth National Championship in Canton, Ohio.

In the 2025 edition of that national tourney, Jaguars‑affiliated teams (boys and girls) competed strongly; the Jaguars boys team even captured a 14U championship and MVP honors with Brysen Wright leading the way.

The girls’ side competed hard as well, and fielded some of the best talent in Northeast Florida. is now building toward similar success, and coaches anticipate top competition from other NFL‑affiliated squads as well as independent all‑female teams.

The Jaguars Foundation continues to invest in the Elite Girls program each year by covering travel costs for tournaments, hosting jamborees, and running showcase events that highlight players to college recruiters. Their annual Preseason Classic not only identifies top local talent but also educates young athletes in leadership and community service through off‑field programming.

Former Elite Girls alumni such a London Jenkins, who recently made the U.S National Women’s Flag Football Team, have credited the Jaguars experience for forging strong bonds and teaching discipline: one past student‑athlete reflected that being named to the All‑Prep squad “gave me confidence to pursue flag football at college level.”

Now, with a new team of dedicated young women, the 2025–26 Jaguars Elite Girls Team enters the season motivated to sustain tradition, earn titles in national tournaments, and showcase what girls flag football in Jacksonville can become.
