Neptune Beach Fl- On a warm August evening in Neptune Beach, the Fletcher Senators opened their 2025 campaign with a resounding 27–13 victory over the visiting Ribault Trojans, extending their recent dominance to a fourth straight win in the series.
Offensively, Fletcher delivered a balanced attack. Iowa commit Diondre Smith emerged as the aerial threat, piling up 68 receiving yards and hauling in two touchdowns, both critical in extending and preserving the Senators’ lead.

Complementing the passing game, Jahmyri Jennings put the finishing touches on the ground, rushing for 40 yards and crossing the goal line twice himself. Jennings showed will be a force to recon with this season.

Ribault got standout contributions from freshman Simari Limehouse-Gillis, who rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown, and even showed passing versatility with 69 yards and a touchdown through the air. Despite his efforts, Fletcher’s overall execution proved too much for the Trojans to overcome.

While Fletcher’s offensive output was impressive, this victory was truly defined by the defensive heroics of senior cornerback Elijah Keys. In a masterclass of defensive ball-hawking, Keys snagged three interceptions, turning the tide repeatedly and halting Ribault’s drives each time. This kind of performance not only anchored the secondary, but set the tone for Fletcher’s defensive dominance all night.
Keys’ performance showcased why he’s earning attention—he’s already a UCF commit, recognized for his size, coverage skills, and playmaking potential. The six foot two corner earned the turnover chain in the game.

From the start, the Senators took control. Fletcher’s offensive rhythm, sparked by Smith and Jennings, coupled with Keys’ defensive takeaway prowess, built a two-score cushion that Ribault could never threaten to overcome. The Trojans’ own flashes—courtesy of Limehouse-Gillis—proved entertaining but ultimately insufficient.

Looking ahead: Fletcher now sets its sights on a road clash with Parker, while Ribault returns home to prepare for Andrew Jackson.
