Beachside’s Galella Gouges Englewood On The Ground In Barracuda’s 65-0 Gorging Of Rams

The Beachside Barracudas put on a dominant display Thursday night, rolling past the Englewood Rams 65–0 in a game that featured explosive offense, opportunistic defense, and plenty of highlights from start to finish.

The tone was set right away. After Beachside won the toss and deferred, kicker Owen Carey boomed the opening kickoff through the end zone. On Englewood’s first possession, disaster struck—the Rams fumbled, cause by Andrew Crews and Jameson Sells pounced on it to give the Barracudas prime field position.

Moments later, Marco Lanza powered in from five yards out to open the scoring with 6:04 left in the first.

The Rams’ struggles with ball security continued. Another fumble, this time caused by Elijah Lewis and recovered by Dalton LaRoux at the Englewood 14.

This set up Vincent Galella, who bulldozed his way into the end zone after dragging defenders nine yards. Galella wasn’t done—on the next series, he showcased his elusiveness, juking left in the open field on a 10-yard touchdown run, giving him 54 yards and two scores in the first quarter alone. By the end of one, it was 21–0 Beachside and Galella had gouged the Rams on the ground.

The second quarter belonged to the Barracuda defense and passing game. Defensive back Andrew Crews jumped a route and sprinted 97 yards for a pick-six, the longest interception return in Beachside history, stretching the lead to 28–0.

Quarterback Aidan Kuglar then found Drew Watson wide open in the slot for a 17-yard strike. On the next drive, QB Charlie Bowler went deep to Brennan Monaco, who hauled in a 56-yard touchdown bomb. Just before halftime, Kaden Lucero powered in from five yards to make it 42–0 at the break.

Beachside showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Lucero added another touchdown from five yards out, Watson broke free for a 52-yard catch-and-run, and the defense stayed aggressive.

Ethan West recovered a fumble that set up Lucero’s second touchdown of the night, pushing the score to 63–0. The exclamation point came late in the fourth, when Englewood snapped the ball into its own end zone for a safety, sealing the 65–0 final.

In all, Beachside’s offense was nearly unstoppable, the defense forced multiple early turnovers. For the Barracudas, it was more than a victory—it was a statement, showcasing depth, discipline, and dominance in every phase of the game.

They rebounded from a week 1 loss to Orlando Christian Prep to improve to 1-1. They are at Menendez (1-0) next week. As for Englewood, it was a disappointing Thursday showing as the fell to 0-2. With losses to Baldwin in week 1, they’ll look to find their first win against Ridgeview September 5th.
