“A storm’s a-brewin” at San Jose Prep After 2-0 Start

In one of their strongest and most complete performances of the short 2025-2026 season, the San Jose Prep Lady Storm engulfed the Ribault Lady Trojans Wednesday night with an impressive 70–45 victory, showcasing balanced scoring, relentless energy, and a statement-making defensive effort on their way to a 2-0 start.

San Jose Prep opened the game on fire, pushing the tempo and attacking Ribault’s pressure defense with confidence. The Lady Storm’s offense flowed efficiently from the start, fueled by sharp ball movement and aggressive playmaking. Lena Most led the charge, scoring 18 points while consistently breaking down the defense with slashes to the basket and midrange precision. Her early rhythm helped San Jose Prep set the tone and build momentum.

Ribault attempted to respond with their trademark pressure, but San Jose Prep’s composure and improved ball security kept the Lady Trojans from generating the turnovers they usually rely on. Elena Atanskovic delivered one of her best performances of the season, adding 17 points and knocking down key perimeter shots to stretch the defense. Her versatility as both a shooter and a steady ball handler proved vital in keeping the offense flowing as she went three for five from 3-point land.

By halftime, San Jose Prep had built a comfortable lead, and they only tightened their grip in the third quarter. Dominant on the boards and disciplined in transition defense, the Lady Storm limited Ribault’s scoring opportunities while continuing to extend their own. Falisa White scored 14 points and Mia Chandler was a force inside, controlling the paint with her physicality, second-chance scoring, and timely rebounds (14).

Entering the fourth quarter with a double-digit cushion, San Jose Prep slammed the door shut. Their intensity never dipped, and their scoring continued at a steady, efficient pace. With Most, Atanskovic, and White combining for 49 of the team’s 70 points, the Lady Storm sealed a commanding 25-point win—one of their most convincing results of the season.

This victory reflects the rising momentum the Lady Storm is generating this year. Emerging as one of Northeast Florida’s most promising programs, led by head Coach John McGraw.

Most, Atanskovic, and White have stepped into leadership roles, consistently providing scoring, toughness, and poise. White scored 21-points in a 61-50 win over Bishop Snyder in their first game of the regular season.
