NORTHEAST FLORIDA — The 2026 high school volleyball season continues to produce big matchups and plenty of movement across Northeast Florida. As Week 5 begins, a strong run against several ranked opponents has commenced. Several teams are battling to solidify positions, while one team remains firmly at the the top.

Here is the Duval Sports D1 Week 5 Volleyball Top 10.

1. Beachside Barracudas — 16-1

Previous ranking: No. 1

Beachside continues to lead the rankings after an impressive stretch of volleyball. The Barracudas went 4-1 at the Battle at the Beach tournament in Venice, picking up wins over Gulliver Prep, Palm Harbor and Westminster Christian before falling to IMG Academy in the championship match.

Beachside’s only loss this season has come against IMG, and the Barracudas have also defeated several teams currently ranked in or around the Duval Sports Top 10.

Freshman Nina Simanic has been outstanding with 217 kills, while Mollie Vandeusen has contributed 142 kills, 226 assists and 133 digs. Arielle Bostic has added 71 kills and provides a strong presence at the net. Isabella Taveras Seda and Ana Simanic have also been key contributors.

The Barracudas will continue tournament play this week, with matches against Georgetown Day, St. Thomas Aquinas and Orangewood Christian scheduled for Sept. 25-26.

2. Ponte Vedra Sharks — 6-2

Previous ranking: No. 2

Ponte Vedra holds onto the No. 2 position after continuing its impressive run against ranked competition.

The Sharks defeated Fleming Island 3-2, then swept Bolles 3-0. Ponte Vedra also defeated Trinity Christian 3-0 on Sept. 22. The victory over Fleming Island was especially significant because it came against a team that had been ranked No. 1 earlier in the season.

Vivienne Woodbury leads the offense with 105 kills, followed by Lily Keeley with 75 and Khloe Murray with 70. Setter Jenna Hahnemann has 270 assists.

Ponte Vedra’s next match is Thursday, Sept. 24, against New Smyrna Beach, followed by matches against Lincoln and Bishop Kenny.

3. Fleming Island Golden Eagles — 10-2

Previous ranking: No. 3

Fleming Island remains No. 3 after another challenging stretch.

The Golden Eagles defeated Trinity Christian in a 3-0 sweep and defeated Middleburg 3-1, adding two quality victories to an already impressive schedule. Fleming Island has also defeated Bartram Trail, Bishop Kenny and Fletcher.

Lillie Eason has 211 kills and 113 digs, while Lauren Brosky has 150 kills, 19 aces and 16 blocks. Kaylee Clark has 104 kills and 38 blocks. Setters Shelby Jackson and Moe’ono’ono Aseta have combined for nearly 500 assists.

The Golden Eagles face Wolfson on Sept. 24, followed by Santa Fe on Sept. 29. The Wolfson match is another important test between two ranked teams.

4. Trinity Christian Conquerors — 12-5

Previous ranking: No. 4

Trinity remains No. 4 after a difficult stretch against two of the area’s top teams.

The Conquerors defeated Christ’s Church 3-0 on Sept. 21 but then fell to Ponte Vedra 3-0 on Sept. 22. Earlier in the month, Trinity picked up wins over Creekside, University Christian, Tocoi Creek, Hagerty and Episcopal.

Senior Nova Hewlett continues to lead the Conquerors with 223 kills and 147 digs. Raelyn Williams has 123 kills and 134 digs, while Makenzie King has added 73 kills and 121 digs. Setter Emma Hernesman has 394 assists.

Trinity returns to action Sept. 28 at Bolles, followed by Oakleaf on Sept. 29.

5. Middleburg Broncos — 9-7

Previous ranking: No. 5

Middleburg remains at No. 5 despite a challenging tournament stretch.

The Broncos defeated Bishop Kenny 3-1 and Wolfson 3-1 before competing in a difficult tournament that included losses to Forest, Seacrest Country Day and IMG Academy Royal. Middleburg also defeated Canterbury during the tournament.

Katelynn Laezza leads the attack with 138 kills, while Maysie Bader has 99. Abigail Grybb has 93 kills and 34 blocks, and Reese Forkum leads the defense with 220 digs.

The Broncos face Fleming Island, Chiles and Tocoi Creek in the coming weeks. The Fleming Island matchup is particularly important as both teams are ranked in the Duval Sports Top 5.

6. Wolfson Wolfpack — 11-4

Previous ranking: No. 7

Movement: Up one spot

Wolfson moves up one position after another strong stretch.

The Wolfpack defeated Oakleaf 3-0 and Bolles 3-0 before falling to Middleburg 3-1. Wolfson’s recent victories over Bolles and other quality opponents have helped strengthen its position in the rankings.

Bethany Stephens, Averie Porter and Mae Abernathy have combined for 347 kills. Stephens also has 36 aces, Porter has 20 blocks and Abernathy has 124 digs. Sophomore setter Carter Rowell has 349 assists, while Monica Mina leads the defense with 134 digs.

Wolfson will travel to Fleming Island on Sept. 24, creating one of the week’s biggest Top 10 matchups.

7. Bishop Kenny Crusaders — 9-11

Previous ranking: No. 9

Movement: Up two spots

Bishop Kenny moves up two spots despite a record that includes several losses against strong competition.

The Crusaders have fought back by picking up recent victories over Tocoi Creek and St. Augustine, while also facing difficult tournament competition against teams such as Hagerty, Buchholz and Tampa Prep.

Junior Chloe Johnson leads Bishop Kenny’s offense with 3.5 kills per set. Aleena Lundy leads the team in total blocks, while Claire Newell averages 4.1 digs per set. Senior Maria Patelli has also been a strong serving threat.

The Crusaders have several important matches ahead, including Ponte Vedra on Sept. 29 and Bolles on Oct. 1. Wins against them can boost their rankings and their confidence heading into district play.

8. Bolles Bulldogs — 9-6

Previous ranking: No. 6

Movement: Down two spots

Bolles drops two spots after losing to Ponte Vedra and Wolfson during the recent stretch. The Bulldogs did pick up wins over Oakleaf, Yulee, St. Johns Classical and Creekside.

Senior Izzy Fischer has been a major offensive weapon, averaging 3.7 kills per set with a .565 hitting percentage. Sophia Albaugh has also been a major contributor, while freshman Breznai Smolko and senior libero Mary Cronk have contributed in key areas.

Bolles will face Trinity Christian on Sept. 28 and Fletcher on Sept. 29, giving the Bulldogs opportunities to move back up the rankings.

9. Fletcher Senators — 9-7

Previous ranking: No. 8

Movement: Down one spot

Fletcher slips one position but remains firmly in the Top 10.

The Senators recently defeated Episcopal 3-1 and previously earned tournament victories over Tocoi Creek and other opponents. Fletcher also pushed Ponte Vedra to a five-set match before falling 3-2.

Amelia Richter leads Fletcher at 2.7 kills per set, while Chelsea Akakatang leads the team in hitting percentage at .484 and has 54 total blocks. Setter Juliette Watson contributes 3.1 digs per set and leads the team with 28 aces.

The Senators have upcoming matches against Mandarin and Bolles.

10. Baldwin Indians — 10-2

Previous ranking: New

New to the Top 10

Baldwin enters the Duval Sports D1 Top 10 at No. 10 after opening the season with a strong 10-2 record.

The Indians have been one of the area’s better stories this season and now move into the rankings as the competition intensifies.

Senior Grace Gottberg has been Baldwin’s top offensive player, averaging 3.5 kills per set with a .315 hitting percentage. Lily Dotson has also contributed offensively and defensively, while eighth-grader Amaya Cardwell has made an impact at the net with nine total blocks. Junior setter Tynlee Jarrell has also contributed across several statistical categories.

Baldwin’s continued success will be important as the Indians look to establish themselves against the area’s ranked programs.

Week 5 features several notable changes:

Beachside stays No. 1 after improving to 16-1.
Ponte Vedra remains No. 2 following wins over Fleming Island, Bolles and Trinity.
Fleming Island stays No. 3 despite its loss to Ponte Vedra.
Trinity remains No. 4 after a difficult stretch against Fleming Island and Ponte Vedra.
Middleburg holds No. 5 at 9-7.
Wolfson moves from No. 7 to No. 6.
Bishop Kenny jumps from No. 9 to No. 7.
Bolles drops from No. 6 to No. 8.
Fletcher moves from No. 8 to No. 9.
Baldwin enters the Top 10 at No. 10.
Yulee falls out of the Top 10 after being No. 10 in Week 4.

With Fleming Island hosting Wolfson on Sept. 24, Ponte Vedra facing New Smyrna Beach, and several other ranked teams preparing for key district and non-district matches, the Week 5 schedule could produce another round of changes in the Duval Sports D1 Volleyball Power Rankings.
