Creeks Outlaws win border bowl against Mandarin

It’s always a rivalry when these two parks get together, and Mandarin and Creeks spare no expense when facing one another. Saturday it was the Pee Wee action as the Creeks Outlaws took on the Mandarin Tigers. Mandarin came into the game trying to establish a winning streak after defeating West Duval last week. Creeks wanted to get on the winning track after falling to Normandy the week before.IMG_9385 (800x524) It’s to early to call it a must win game in the season, but Coach Rick Butler made sure that his team new the importance of not starting the season 0-2. They scored early and often against Mandarin in this one, feeding off the home crowd. They relied on playmakers like runningback #41 Weatherly to fuel the power offense behind a punishing offensive line.

Mandarin tried to counter with their power play but could not match Creek’s intensity. On defense Creeks controlled the line of scrimmage and pressured Mandarin into untimely mistakes and turnovers on downs. It was an all around impressive effort for the outlaws.

Both teams are 1-1 on the season. Creeks is 1-0 in the division. Mandarin is 0-1 in division play.

The Final Acore: Creeks 25 Mandarin: 7
