Lake Shore Rebounds Over James Weldon Heading Into A Must Win Week 3 Game

James Weldon Johnson- If you wanted to see an interesting football game Lake Shore (Warriors) versus James Weldon Johnson (JWJ/Trojans) was the game to be at. All night they were back and forth scoring touchdown for touchdown when James Weldon got comfortable and #6 Lake Shore’s Willie Blackwell made them pay. Blackwell galloped into the end zone for a Warriors touchdown giving them the lead. The fans went crazy they were a big part of the game and brought the entire game to life. The confidence that they gave Lake Shore was uplifting and got the players hyped and ready for a war on the gridiron.

The first touchdown of the game was made by Keymari Jelks, although Lake Shore put the first points on the score board, the Trojans didn’t just give the game away. Like a lightning bolt, Cale Zarah ran hard for the Trojan’s first touchdown. Not long after that, Zarah what make an amazing play across the field catching an amazing pass in the end zone for a touchdown. his play would put them in the lead 12-8 in the fourth quarter. The Trojans began to celebrate prematurely as the game drew closer to an end, a critical mistake by the team.

The Warriors had other plans, after Blackwell made the final touchdown of the game and #21 Jalen Hunter ran in the two point conversion putting them in the lead 16-12. Zarah wasn’t happy about that, he did all he could to try to score another touchdown but was stopped as time expiered. Both teams played a great game but the Lake Shore Warriors came out on top.

With the win, Lake Shore(1-1) is set to take on Jeff Davis (2-0) in a western division showdown. After losing to Jeb Stuart in week one, Lake Shore needs to win this game in order to stay in the hunt for a western division championship. It is sure to be a good game as both teams will look to give it everything they’ve got and leave everything on the field.
