High Flying Oceanway Bucs Heading to Pop Warner Championship

The Pop Warner Playoffs are underway and several teams competed this weekend in exciting youth football action. One of the teams that prevailed this weekend were the Oceanway Black Bucs of the Junior Pee Wee Division. The Bucs defeated the Westside Wildcats 36-6 to advance to the Pop Warner Championships at TIAA Bank Field .

Oceanway was led by Quarterback Timothy Cole II, who threw two touchdown passes in the game, and led his team up and down the field. Cole connected with Tight End Xavier Hilliard and Mahrle Moe on touchdown receptions in the game.

Oceanway has a dynamic offensive and defensive line which controlled the line of scrimmage limiting Westside to just 6 points. The Bucs defense forced several turnovers in the game and capitalized on those turnovers. Safety Wesley Parks closed the game out with an interception in the fourth quarter which generated elation from the team and parents on the sideline. Defense combined with a powerful running game led by Zion Hicks who scored a touchdown on the ground, makes the Bucs a very dangerous team.

Oceanway will face Grand Park in the championship to see who will be crowned champion in Division three and represent Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner in the Southeast Regional Playoffs.
