Championship Bound: Grandpark Dominant in Win Over Sweetwater

The Pop Warner Playoffs are underway and several teams competed this weekend in exciting youth football action. One of the teams that prevailed this weekend were the Grandpark Trojans of the Junior Pee Wee Division. The Trojans defeated rival park Sweetwater 33-0 to advance to the Pop Warner Championships at TIAA Bank Field .

Grandpark was led by veteran #2 Naeem Burroughs who scored on offense and defense. Burroughs has been with the the park for several years and knows how to win. His interception return for a touchdown defined the effort of the Trojans as they executed a shut out victory.

Newcomer #1 Rod Coleman has been special for the team scoring in the running game. His ability to take it the distance in one play has given Grandpark an explosive weapon on offense. Head Coach Cal preaches discipline to his team, and players like #14 Isaac Tucker, #10 Xavier Mccoy, and #8 Aarron Lockett Jr have been valuable assets to his vision. Against Sweetwater, they dominated at their positions, making it hard for them to establish any consistency on offense or defense. The result was a 33-0 shutout, as Grandpark advances to the championship.

Grandpark will face Oceanway in the championship to see who will be crowned champion in Division three and represent Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner in the Southeast Regional Playoffs.
