Jacksonville Fl- Trinity Christian Academy 2023 5-star running back Treyaun Webb has committed to the University of Oklahoma. Webb who stands at 6’0ft and 185lbs, is the first 5 star local athlete to commit to the Sooners. Webb has been a first on many levels in recruiting in Northeast Florida. He was the first to be offered a football scholarship by an SEC school while still enrolled in middle school in 2018. At that time he committed to Georgia but later de-committed to explore other options. Saturday he chose Oklahoma.
Said Webb of why he chose the Sooners over Ohio State and Georgia, “consistency, Coach Riley (Lincoln Riley) was very involved in my recruitment from the beginning, I loved it”.
Webb rushed for 837 yards and 11 touchdowns in just 10 games played last year, helping to guide Trinity to a Class 3A State Championship. He is ranked No. 29 overall in the 2023 class by 247Sports and No. 46 in the 247Sports Composite. He recently dropped from a 5-star rating to a 4-star rating, after holding 5-star status for well over a year. He is ranked #56 in the nationally by Rivals. He is the DuvalSports.com #1 Football recruit for the class of 2023.
Webb played youth football at Oceanway, and Forest Park youth football associations in Pop Warner. He played middle school football at Trinity Christian. He is a former Duval Sports Top 50 Middle School player , a distinguished honor given to the Top 50 football prospects heading into high school.
Said Webb after his commitment, ” I’m just glad it’s over so now I can focus on football”. Webb is looking to bring another state championship to Trinity Christian, this time in 2A as the program moved down in classification in 2021. His father Reggie Webb has been a major impact in his football journey.
