Northeast Florida- This week we reveal our new Power Rankings in previewing this “Showdown Friday” in Northeast Florida. There are lots of changes as teams attempt to navaigate the second half of their seasons. Many factors have affected team’s success mid-season. Some teams have suffered impactful injuries at the quarterback position such as Bolles, and Ed White, Others are coming into tougher parts of their schedule. No matter the case, every team will have a showdown today to determine who is reslient and ready for a late season push.

1.Trinity -(6-0) Defeated Riverside (2-5) last week vs University Christian (7-0) this week

One of these teams will fall from the unbeaten this weekend. Trinity is clearly the best team in the area, and they look to remain the best after this great matchup.

2. Bartram Trail- (6-0) Defeated Fleming Island (3-2) last week vs Creekside (5-1) this week

It’s going to be a shootout in this one. It’s not only the biggest rivalry in St. John’s County now, but it’s for a District title, as Creekside looks to keep their championship hopes alive. Bartram hopes to stay unbeaten in district play and overall.

3. Jackson- (5-1) BYE vs Riverside this week

Coming off the bye, Jackson hopes to dust off the rust quickly against Riverside to stay unbeaten. However the Generals played Trinity very tough, so this won’t be an easy win.

4. University Christian- (7-0) Defeated NFEI (2-4) vs Trinity this week

It’s the game they have been waiting for. With top coaching staffs and top athletes its going ot be fun to watch. For University Christian, it’s going to take all they’ve got to pull off the upset.

5. Bradford- (6-0) BYE last week, vs Tocoi Creek this week

Coming off the bye week, Bradford faces a pretty tough Tocoi team that has truly played hard in every game regardless of out-come. The problem for the Toros is that the Tornadoes have played tough in every game too, and won!

6. Creekside- (5-1)  Defeated Oakleaf Thur 10/6/22 49-48 vs Bartram this week

The most exciting team to watch is Creekside and they have a big test vs Bartram. The key to their game is finding enough on defense to hold opposing offenses to minimal points. If that’s not the case, then they will simply have to attempt to out-score the Bears in order to win.

7. Bolles (5-3) Deafeated Wolfson 55-6. BYE This week

After knocking off previously undefeated Episcopal, the Bulldogs get a break to get healthy just in time for the final stretch of the season.

8. Raines (5-1) Defeated Ribault (3-4) Saturday Bye week this week

The Northwest Classic goes to Raines again. Now, the Vikings will rest up and have a tune up before the big one against Jackson.

9. Mandarin- (4-2) Defeated Westside (1-5) vs Fleming Island this week

The Mustangs have a full team of playmakers and they have showcased them all this year. Fleming Island also has a team of playmakers that they showcase as well. This one is a rematch from spring football 2022.

10. Fletcher- (5-2) Defeated Ed White (4-2) vs Englewood (3-3)

Fletcher got an impressive win over Ed White last week, and look to plow through another Gateway Conference foe with a winning record Friday. They are building lots of confidence on the win streak.
