Bolles Collapses At The Corral, As Mandarin Scores 21 Unasnwered To Win

Jacksonville Fl- It couldn’t get any better if it were written by a hollywodd director. Bolles at Mandarin lived up to everything and then some, coming down to the last possession to decide the game. In the end, Mandarin would score 21 unanswered points in the second half to mount a furious comeback and gain the victory 42-35 at the Corral.

For Bolles it was another devistating loss in the last seconds. Last week, they fell to St. Augustine on the last play of the game. In week 2, they blew a 35-21 lead in the second half to allow Mandarin to get back into the game. It all started with a touchdown run by Tiant Wyche, bringing the score to 35-28.

Next, Tramell Jones Jr (FSU commit) would find his top receiver Jaime Ffrench Jr (Alabama commit) for a short touchdown in the corner, bringing the Mustangs to within 1-point 35-34 after the missed extra point.

Finally with 2:33 to play in the game, Tiant Wyche would score another touchdown in the game, this one proved to be the game winner. Wyche has rushed for multiple scores in both games this year. He’s on a roll.

Mandarin’s defense would step up next, as defensive back Joshua Burton broke up a 4th down pass by DJ Moore, ending any hopes of a comeback by the Bulldogs.

For Mandarin, it’s the second week in a row where they were challenged to respond offensively after giving up several scores. Bolles Naeem Burroughs went off in the second quarter, scoring three consecutive touchdowns in the quarter.

After Burroughs caught his first on the left sideline, Mandarin responded with a touchdwon of their own, a pass from Tramell Jones to sophomore wideout Ethan Sherman for a touchdown, bringing the score to 15-14 Mandarin.

Burroughs would score his second conescutive touchdown on a slant down the middle, as the sophomore showed his lightning quick moves and speed. Bolles would retake the lead 21-15.

Not to be outdone, Deshard Westcott who had several big runs in the game would score a touchdown to tie the game 21-21 all in the a furious second quarter.

The hat trick by Naeem the dream was fulfilled when he scored his thrid touchdown of the quarter. This one was a slant down the middle after a fake zone read froze the backers and safety. A rocket pass by DJ Moore who was on fire in the game as well.

This gave Bolles a 28-21 lead. The efforts of Burroughs, Emmett Grzebin who also scored a touchdown, and the entire Bolles team would crumble thanks to the Mustang’s defense. Jackson Copeland would get pressures and sacks all game, while Hylton Drake Stubbs intercepted his second pass in consecutive weeks to stop a scoring drive.

Mandarin (2-0) will visit undefeated Riverside (2-0) who defeated Terry Parker 33-0.

Bolles (0-2) wil face undefeated Coffe County (2-0) in hopes of getting their first win on the season.
