Girls Basketball: Hot Teams Sizzle On The Last Cold Night Of November

Northeast Fl- There were several games in girls basketball on Thursday night action. We bounce around Northeast Florida highlighting top scorers and hot teams, on a cold November night.


The Episcopal Eagles moved to 3-2 on the season defeating Hilliard 44-36. Zara Griffith led all scorers with 21 points. They’ll welcome rivals Bishop Kenny next week.


Providence defeats Bolles 53-50. Janie Boyd scored 17 points, while Janai Jordan scored 15 points for the Stallions. Abby Knauff scored 20 points for Bolles. Bolles falls to 3-1. Providence improves to 4-0.


Tocoi Creek improved to 3-0 on the season defeating Jackson 44- 42. Audrey Beyer scored 18pts, Kaitlynn Weaver scored 9pts, and Gabi Iturralde scored 9pts for Tocoi Creek. Beyer is averaging 16.8 ppg, Iturralde is averaging 14.3 ppg. Weaver is averaging 7.8 ppg. For Jackson, Jaycie Corley had 12 points, Jordan Ferguson had 11 rebounds and Aniyah Pearson had 5 assists. Jackson fell to 1-5 on the season.

Orange Park defeated Gainesville 38-32 Thursday night. Head Coach Michael Nesmith got his 50th victory . The Raiders improved to 3-0 on the season. Piera Alexander averages 16.0ppg, Mychaela Parker averages 13.5 ppg. Hailey Revak is averaging 13.0 ppg.


Fletcher defeated Fernadina 39-27 in a bog victory Tuesday. Jasmine Cross led the way with 18 points. The Senators improved to 3-0 on the season. Savina Wells is averaging 13.7ppg for the Pirates. Fernandina fell to 2-2.


Baker County defeated Clay 58-42 Thursday. Baker County improved to 2-1 on the season. Yamise Haygood, Natalia Strachan, and Zaniah Blake have led the Wildcats this year. Clay was coming off a big win over Westside on Tuesday. They fell to 2-2 on the season after the loss. Teaghan Moses led all scorers with 19 points while freshman Aiyana Haynes scored a season high 14 points.

Mandarin 53-40 over Atlantic Coast. Mandarin’s Nykeria Thomas scored 15 points, while Kourtney Johnson scored 11 points.


Ponte Vedra defeats Ridgeview 55-54. The Sharks were led by Kennedy Rosendahl who scored 23 pts (5-three’s), 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Morgan Gavazzi scored 17 points (3-three’s), 6 steals, 5 assists Breah Usry scored 11 points, 7 reb., 3 assists for Ponte Vedra.


Paxon got a big win over Oakleaf 48-45. Kennedy Waymer hit the game deciding shot. While Ansley Hicks got the winning steal and free throw. Waymer scored 9 points and Hicks scored 14 points. Sharla Adams scored 12 points and was a presence down low.

Oakleaf was led by Trista Brown who scored 18 points. Shelby Gaines scored 15 points in the loss for the Knights. Paxon improved to 4-1 on the season while Oakleaf falls to 0-3 on the season.
