High School Football Power Rankings: Top 10 After Week # 9

It’s the biggest week of the year as teams finalize their playoff spots. Bolles and Raines  Oakleaf and Bartram, Yulee and Ribault all battle for playoff spots.  Sandalwood and Mandarin jockey for position with Spruce Creek or District dominance. It’s do or die time and here’s how the top teams in North East Florida stand in our power rankings

[ABTM id=23843]

  1. Bolles (7-0)
  2. Raines ( 6-0)
  3. Baker County (7-0)
  4. Ponte Vedra (7-0)
  5. Lee  (5-1)
  6. Trinity (5-3)
  7. St. Augustine (7-1)
  8. Mandarin (5-1)
  9. Sandalwood (5-1)
  10. Episcopal (8-0)

Bolles has been a consistent feature at the top of Andre’s rankings. They have their toughest test of the season in the Raines Vikings who come in at #2 in his rankings. Raines moves up as other teams fell behind. Behind them in Andre’s top 5 rankings for the first time is Baker County and Ponte Vedra. Both teams are undefeated and it’s time to show them the respect they deserve. Baker put down Clay emphatically and Ponte Vedra has beaten everyone on their schedule including Bartram and Oakleaf to power house teams. Baker and Ponte Vedra belong atop this ranking. St. Augustine appears for the first time in Andre’s poll since week #1. Their only loss is to Baker County who has proven to be a great team. Mandarin falls after their loss to Spruce Creek and Sandalwood sits behind them. Rounding out the top 10 is another undefeated team that deserves respect and that’s the Episcopal Eagles. Andre’ said at the Duval Sports Show on Tuesday don’t sleep on Episcopal versus Trinity this week,

  3. Lee (5-1)
  4. Baker County (7-0)
  5. St. Augustine (7-1)

  7. Ponte Vedra (7-0)
  8. University Christian  (5-2)
  9. Mandarin (5-1)
  10. Sandalwood (5-1)

Corey’s got the #1 and #2 teams atop his rankings all set for their showdown. Lee  comes in at #3 and will face a desperate Fletcher team for the district. Fletcher fell out of both rankings this week after their loss to Columbia. Baker, St. Augustine and Trinity come in that order as the Conquerors loss to top ranked IMG didn’t have a huge affect  in either rankings. Pote Vedra is #7 in Corey’s rankings followed by the University Christian Christians. Rounding out Corey’s top 10 is Mandarin and Sandalwood who have disappointed in consecutive weeks respectively.
