Three Remain Undefeated as Landmark Gets Pushed Down in Week #6 Power Rankings

Heading into the final week of the regular season, check out the DuvalSports.com Power Rankings for each team heading into the playoffs.

1.Ribault (5-0)

They took care of business last week and can cap off their first undefeated season in school history with a win over J.E.B Stuart

2. Dupont (5-0)

It’s homecoming for Dupont, and coming off the bye week, this team got an extra week to get better. They move up to the #2 spot and have Mayport up next.

3.Jeff Davis (5-0)

Jeff Davis moves up in our rankings after also being on a bye. It’s a perfect time for this team to show improvement in areas of concern as they head to the playoffs. They can test what they practiced on during the bye week against a team that defeated them last year in Fletcher.

4. Gilbert (4-1)

YMLA didn’t stand a chance against the Panthers. Already a tall order to stay with them, they got Gilbert fresh off their first loss of the season. Not good… 42-0. So why did Gilbert fall in our rankings this week? No fault of their own, Dupont and Jeff Davis just had a bye week to get better and move up.

5.Mandarin (5-1)

Mandarin may be playing the best football of a team that is not going to the playoffs. They dominated Landmark last week with their size and speed. Winning five games in a row is a great way to end the season.

6.Landmark (5-1)

The Seahawks fall in our rankings after their poor showing against Mandarin. Yes Mandarin is playing good football, but Landmark looked disinterested in playing their game. It was important too. Going into the final week, Landmark is the only division champion that’s suffered a loss. If this remains after this week, Landmark will be a #4 seed going into the playoffs.

7. Fletcher(5-1)

Fletcher is another team playing really well. The players have seemed to grasp the system and are executing it well. A big win over Twin Lakes and Arlington in consecutive weeks is something they can be proud of. They can add a playoff team onto that list if they beat Jeff Davis this week.

8. J.E.B Stuart (5-1)

J.E.B Stuart can shake up the playoff seeding today if they can pull the upset against Ribault. They have a lot to play for even though they won’t make the playoffs. With their talent, they could definitely make it a game.

9. Kirby Smith(3-2)

Kirby Smith is probably the best 3-2 team in the county. They can prove it against Highlands this week stamping a very successful 2017 season.

10.Highlands(3-2)

Highlands appears on our power rankings and has a chance to make a statement against Kirby Smith. It was a nice win against Oceanway last week

Honorable Mention:

Arlington (3-2), Twin Lakes(3-3), James Weldon Johnson(3-3),

Lake Shore (3-2)
