O.T.O.D Marches Right Into Nationals

JACKSONVILLE -“A marching they will go. A marching they will go. All the way to Nationals. A marching they will go.”

The long 2018 AAU basketball season has arrived to an expected end for One Team One Dream. One Team One Dream is living the ultimate dream, their AAU Basketball team will advance to the nationals in the 11-U, seventh grade and eighth grade divisions.

The organization is a couple of months shy of its second-year anniversary and has achieved multiple accomplishments and recognition throughout Northeast Florida.

“We are a family and we love what we do”, President Bennie McDuffie said.

O.T.OD. has proven to be a known name in the city of Jacksonville hosting successful AAU tournaments, presenting new talented players and representing Northeast Florida in the 2018 AAU Nationals.

Founder Byron Shemwell accredits the organization’s success to its great staff and coaches. The team’s motto is, “We before me”. Shemwell seemingly declined to name a spotlite player. He stands firm on the belief that O.T.O.D has no stand out players and that all his players work together as a team to achieve their basketball dreams.

The enthusiastic players are fueled with firm core values which consist of unselfishness, repetition, playing the game the right way, sticking to strategy, overwhelming confidence and making every moment count.

The 11-U team is the seemingly growing, developing baby of the group. They possess lots of raw, undeveloped talent but require guarded direction for sustainability. Currently. O.T.O. D’s 11-U team has crashed and busted through the city with an undefeated record the entire season.

The seventh grade team has good, advanced guards, athletic big players with skills that are developing rapidly. The eighth  grade team has multiple guards that can handle, and shoot the ball. The players are athletic with nice size and they are sufficient in playing defense.

O.T.O. D’s eighth grade team is quite scrappy during games and they have a good chance of bringing home the trophy from Nationals.

The coaches and staff of O.T.O.D have developed a successful program in which the responsibility is given to the athletes which to teaches them to be accountable for their actions.

One Team One Dream has battled on the courts relentlessly this season and they will be marching right into Nationals this month expectant to bring home the big win.
