Those might seem like bold words, but Davaughn Patterson is a bold player that backs up any and all bets on him. He’s a tenacious competitor, fierce hitter, and excellent tracker of the football in the air . He compliments it all with sheer athleticism and silent grit. His junior year was a coming out party for everyone who didn’t know who he was. He led the Commanders on defense with 88 tackles, 3 forced fumbles,  3 interceptions and a sack his junior year. He combined that with offensive work, rushing for 351 yards on just 48 carries and 6 touchdowns, helping guide Ed White to the playoffs for the first time in 7 years.

He followsedin the foot-steps of older brother Jaison Patterson (running-back, Bowling Green) and leads the way for little brother Josh Patterson (rising sophomore), who already has D1 offers as well. As a Duval Sports 2021-2022 Prime Time Player, Patterson followed up with a steller senior campaign rushing for 587 yards, 13 TDs while tallying 64 tackles on defense with 2 Ints and made the 2022-2023 First Team Prime Time Player list as well.  Patterson committed to Wake Forest in the summer of 2022 and signed on December 21st 2022 on early signing day.

At Wake Forest:

Made 78 total tackles, four TFLs, nine pass breakups and forced a fumble… Finished sixth in the ACC and first on the team with nine passes defended in 2025 as a redshirt sophomore. 

Started every game during the 2024 season for the Demon Deacons… Finished the season with 74 tackles, with 28 solo tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss, as well as forced fumble, and interception, and three pass deflections.
