Mid-Season Highlight: Jamari Allen- LB,S, Ed White

Ed White High School- Jamari “Virginia” Allen is an extrmely versitile safety who excels in duel roles as an extremely effective run stuffing strong safety and quick instinctive linebacker. He plays well in space, flying up to make tackles to prevent long gains. He hustles from the back side to prevent scoring plays. He fills holes in the run game, can blitz from anywhere on the field, and makes bone crushing hits.

He’s been a difference maker on the Ed White defense, able to play in the box, a piece that the Commanders desperately needed. Already, he has registered 50 tackles (2nd on the team), 11 tackles for loss (1st on the team), 3.5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries in five games.

Against Englewood, Allen posted a whopping 3 sacks, 11 tackles, and fumble recovery. Against Trinity, he was a main-stay in the back field, tackling the best duo rushing attack in Florida for losses. He’s shown that he shows up against every opponent and every game.

As predicted before the season, he’s been a true all around player and a perfect puzzle piece for the Commander defense which is tops in the area in takeaways this season. He’s already surpassed last year’s totals at Riverside high school (48 tackles, 3 sacks and 5 PBUs). There’s no player in Northeast Florida more deserving of a chance at the next level than Allen.
