Northeast Fl- We’ve come out with the Football Madden Ratings for 2022. For the last three years, Duval Sports has released Madden Ratings for athletes in Northeast Florida and let’s just say it’s been interesting. It’s been a pretty fun story for the young athletes, being able to associate their favorite video game with their own personal athletic achievement. It’s all in fun, and all in the game as EA Sports says. So let’s break down the Madden Ratings, and look at what determines the overall ratings.

There are three main catagories that determine the overall Madden Ratings listed. Stats, Athleticism, and Opponents. Stats will be listed next to each player. Athleticism is based off what Duval Sports coorespondents have seen in person, or reviewed on Hudl. Opponents is based on strength of schedule and college offered players faced. The overall rating based on those three categories, is what’s shown in the skills bar.

Only the Top 25 players from each position will be listed. Players overall ratings must be graded at 80% or above to be listed. All stats are used from Maxpreps, the official stat provider for the FHSAA. If stats aren’t available, we reach out to each school for stats or simply factor in athleticism and strength of schedule. Finally, lets check out the Madden Rankings below.

There is a reason these players are some of the most highly sought after athletes in the country and they proved it this year. Desirrio Riles had an amazing year on both sides of the ball. Jordan ” Big Baby” Hall made offensive linemen cry as he crashed through their lines. Markus Strong lived up to his last name with his strong performances this year.

Impressive playmakers for playoff teams saw Bradford’s Torin Brazell, Baker County’s Orlando Holland, Deavery Weeks (Riverside), and Bartram Trail’s Arion Stith, lead dominant defenses deep into the playoffs.

Arion Sthith, DT, Bartram Trail, 32 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 int, pick 6
DeAvery Weeks,DE, Riverside, 74 tackles, 6 sacks

There were several players who provided pressure on a consistant basis from linebacker spots. The 6’4 Ashton Bracewell ( Flagler Palm Coast), the lightning quick Bryson Bowen (Bradford), the menacing Jeremiah Lovely (Andrew Jackson) and,the relentless Bryce Kazmierczak (Trinity),all rushed the passer on consistent basis, or played the run at the line of scrimmage to plug holes.

There were several players who set the edge and held it down as the primary anchors of the defensive lines. Englewood’s J’ Sean Scarver, Jackson Copeland of Mandarin, Adrian Yeartie of Baldwin, Garrison Butler (Bolles), and Matteo Davis (Fletcher) were focal points of their team’s defensive lines.

There were several tandums on defensive units in NE Florida that made the difference for their teams. Koron Howard and Sayvion Blount of Sandalwood. Jamal Harvey Jackson (Riverside) and Tomarion McCray (Trinity) join team members on the rankings. Symeon Cobham-Portorreal and Tyler Fann are teammates at Jackson that held several opponents under 20 points this season.
