Duval Sports D1 Prospects: Week 3 Atlantic Coast Versus Orange Park

He was always around the football, and coaches love that about players. It shows instincts and intelligence. The 6’0, 180lbs backer was on the spot for a punt block return for a TD. He was also in place to fill rushing alleys, and passing lanes.

Bryson Pinkston, a 6’1, 190lbs LB made several tackles against Atlantic Coast. What impressed me the most is his ability to make open field tackles against mobile quarterbacks in space. He saved several big gains because he was in the right place at the right time.

Standing at 6’2, 230lbs, Cross is the ideal size, and build for a rush OLB. The problem is that Atlantic Coast already has two prominent edge rushers. So Cross appears to be playing out of position for the Stingrays at times. Even still, the promise and potential shows with his impressive mass. His pass rush can truly take off with a higher motor. The 6’0, 170lbs Still single-handedly got his team back into the game. His punt block turned into the Raider’s first TD right after halftime. His interception foiled any attempt for momentum by Atlantic Coast. Without him, Orange Park doesn’t win the game.

Without question the best player on the field during this game, and probably every game on the schedule. The 6’4, 215lbs Edge Rusher terrorized Orange Park for 3 sacks, sack fumble, punt block and safety. He is committed to Clemson, and what’s best about him is he has continued to work on his game even after all the offers. His get off and length are unmatched in the area.

Williams showed incredible poise in the pocket under tremendous pressure. He stood tall and delivered a TD pass to seal the game. But he also showed the ability to scramble when receivers weren’t open.

At 6’4″ and 210 lbs, Hayward is another physical presence on the Atlantic Coast defense. He has successfully pulled several Division I offers, including Bowling Green (BGSU), Delaware State, and Florida A&M (FAMU). He registered a sack in the game and several pressures and TFLs.

Bellamy scored on a 40-yard touchdown reception to end the game. He almost got into the endzone earlier in the second half as well. He showed the ability to cut on a dime while not losing speed, a trait that isn’t natural for everyone. At 5’7, 150lbs, he can get to tight spaces on the field easy and provide a target for his quarterback.

Thompson really impressed with his speed. He was able to reach the corners and turn up field on multiple runs with little to no blocking. He scored on one of them. At 5’8, 175lbs, Thompson has the prototypical size for a change of pace back.

The 6’5, 310lbs linemen has tremendous size that cant be overlooked. When he stays low and gets his legs moving he can move piles. He plays both ways for Orange Park, however, I see him as an offensive lineman. Has an offer from Erskine College

Really enjoyed watching his film. Although the edge rushers get the glory, Smith was seen doing the dirty work in the trenches. The 6’2, 255lbs D-tackle used several pass rush moves to get to the quarterback, and register TFLs. He also had a very effective bull-rush.

The biggest man on the field was the 6’6, 320lbs Jones. Still learning and growing as a player, his size is unmistakably evident. He used it to his advantage anchoring the middle of the defensive line. But he also showed the ability to penetrate the backfield for TFLs. He plays both ways as well. I believe colleges will want him to play offensive line at the next level.
