Mandarin Boys Soccer Ends Season Undefeated, Captured Another Gateway Conference Title

Jacksonville Fl- The Mandarin boys soccer team won its fifth consecutive Gateway Conference title this year, defeating Wolfson 6-0 on January 10th. Yet the party didn’t stop there for the Mustangs, as Mandarin continued it’s County best 13-game winning streak to defeat Nease Thursday night, to close out the regular season

Mandarin (13-0-2) only suffered two ties all season as they close out an incredible regular season, and gear up for District tournament and playoffs.

Senior Daniel Moreno led the Mustangs with 16 goals on the season. Junior Robert Calazans was just behind him with 13 goals on the season, as well as Emir Trto who scored 11 goals on the season going into their final contest against Nease.

Trto also leads Mandarin in assists with 10, along with brother Omar Trto with 7 and senior David Garcia with 8 assists. Junior Luxiah Beard has be fantastic a goalkeeping with 31 saves heading into the last game of the regular season. It’s truly been a great season for these play makers who have brought it each game for the Mustangs.

Head Coach Jason Cooley will now turn his attention to the post-season where Mandarin advanced all the way to the Regional Final in the 2023-2024. Last year they went 19-1-2, and hope to go even further as a state championship is on the minds of Mandarin.
