First Coast High School

The 2014-2015 High School Baseball Regular Season began today, and the smell of hot dogs were in the air at First Coast High School where their Buccaneers hosted the Generals of Lee High School.

The action led off with the Bucaneers taking the advantage thanks to base hits and excellent base running. First Coast’s Coach Moses clearly had his team focused and ready.  Already up 1-0 the Buccaneer’s Cody Miller brought in a run on a single to the outfield.

Next it was Jordan Deadwyler’s turn, as the recent Vorhees College commit logged an  R.B.I with a single of his own.  Then like clock work Todd Lott of First Coast brought home to make it 5-0. First coast came out swinging while Lee seemed to be suffering form opening day jitters.

But Lee would not lose their fire taking the lead from their Lead General Coach Barnes. The flames got hot in the 5th inning as their batters began to crack the bats. A few foul balls early in the count turned into base hits later in the counts. A base hit into right field brought home Lee’s Kalen Williams, and it was all of a sudden 5-2.

Thought the Generals gave a valiant effort, the Buccaneers were just to much however, as they overwhelmed Lee; capitalizing on some costly mistakes that General fielders made. These mistakes opened the door for extra runs for the Bucs that Lee could not come back from.

Final Score: 12-2 First Coast
