There were many statement games last week, that shifted some spots on this week’s power rankings. Statements by Bolles, Baker County and Fletcher highlight some of the best teams in the area.

  1. Bolles- The Bulldogs remain the number one team in Northeast Florida after a throttling of Trinity Christian last week. Many players had the game circled on their calendars, which means they didn’t have the game against St. Augustine circled. It remains to be seen if they have a let down against the Jackets.

2. Bartram- moves up one spot after their high scoring affair against Creekside. It’s a rivalry game, so throw records and apparently defense out of the window. The Bears face off against the Mustangs next.

3. Oakleaf- The Knights have lots of weapons that can turn on real quick and at the drop of a dime. In the second half they ignited as a tied ball game sa Oakleaf win convincingly against Buchholz. They cant afford to do the same thing this week as they visit Lowndes County Ga.

Bolles remains on top and Trinity falls two spots after facing each other in week one

4. Trinity – The Conquerors fall two spots after the loss to the number one team in the area. They were shorthanded in the game with injuries, so one can’t truly tell if they are that bad of a team or if they just got caught on bad night.

5. Lee- The Generals didn’t play last week giving Coach Smalls ample time to ramp up his team and get ready for Ribualt.

6. Fleming Island- The Golden Eagles are 1-0 and will have a big test against Fletcher coming up.

7. Fletcher- The Senators seem impressive after handedly defeating Terry Parker last week. They want revenge against Fleming, who has had their number in recent years.

Raines looks to rebound after falling to Venice in Week #1

8. Raines- We have to take it easy on the Vikings. They faced one of the best teams in the state in Venice. They have another tough test against Camden County this week. We’ll see if they can bounce back.

9. Baker County – Impressive wins for the Wildcats has them 2-0 and looking good. A tough test lies ahead against Ed White which should tell a lot about both teams.

10. Mandarin- Mandarin’s fall is more so due to the rise of other teams. A 14-0 shutout of Atlantic Coast is a good way to start the season.

Outside looking in: Columbia, West Nassau, Sandalwood
