First Coast and Flagler Palm Coast battled to advance to the district title game Tuesday night. First Coast went up big initially scoring eight runs in five innings and led 8-3. But the Bulldogs of Flagler Palm coast never gave up. They scratched and clawed their way back into the contest while also clamping down on defense to pull within two going into the final inning. Yet #12 Desiray Connell and company were just to much for them, as the Buccaneers closed out the contest winning 8-6. With the win, First Coast would play the winner of Mandarin and Sandalwood Thursday for the District Title.

First Coast Coach Chrissanne Hooten knew a win wasn’t going to be easy. “We split the season series with them so we knew it would be tough. We’re a really young team, I’m excited for this team’s future together. It’s all about the kids!”.  For one of her kids #8  Right Fielder Kaley Whitehead, advancing is an opportunity for history. ” We were district champs back to back so I’m excited to play for another district title against Mandarin or Sandalwood this year”.
