Ribault Returns To The Final 4 After Rolling Through Rickards; Stranahan Awaits

Jacksonville Fl- Ribault defeated Rickards 62-37 to advance to the Class 4A State Semifinals. Ribault is 21-8 and secured the #1 seed in the region. They have proven all year that they are not only one of the best teams in Northeast Florida, but in the entire state of Florida. That was stamped with a ticket to Lakeland.

In the first round, the Trojans handled business against Fort Walton Beach 75-55 to advance to the Sweet 16. Senior guard Kaden Toure led all scorers with 23 points versus Fort Walton Beach. Senior guard Ty’reon Bradwell scored 14 points versus Fort Walton to help secure the 20-point win.

Next, Ribault would defeat Bishop Kenny 74-47 in the regional semifinals. Senior Kaleb McDuffie had 16 points versus Kenny, Toure led the team again with 18 points, while Jamian Jackson and Zion Hall both scored 13 points against Kenny helping them advance to face Rickards in the Elite 8.

The Gateway Conference Champions have shown they can beat any team at any time. Such was the case when they upset Final 4 participant Jackson in the Gateway Conference tournament 57-51. They are a quick group of guards who penetrate and play defense. They can also leap out of the gym like 6 foot 2 senior Kaden Toure who has led the team with 16.5ppg, as well as 6 foot 4 senior Jamian Jackson who averages 15.2 ppg.

The Trojans will face 23-7 Stranahan in the Final 4. The Dragons are ranked #2 in the Fianl 4 while Ribault is ranked #3. Junior Christian Yeargin averages 14.8ppg for Stranahan. The 6 foot 3 David Nealy averages 12.3ppg. Sophomore Damari Foster averages 12.1ppg for Stranahan.

Anticipate a fast paced Final 4 between both clubs with explosive plays from athletic student athletes. Coach Charles Showers of Ribault has done a magnificent job navigating the Trojans to the Sweet 16 last year. Ribault appeared in Final 4 the year before that as well, yet the Trojans fell to The Villages Charter 43-39 in the 2022-2023 State Semifinals. They look to finish what they started and bring the title back to Northeast Florida.
