Bolles Secures Thrilling Rivalry Win against Trinity

Northeast Florida- In a clash that will be remembered for years to come, the Bolles Bulldogs and the Trinity Christian Conquerors battled it out under the cloudy sky of George H. Hodges Stadium. It was a game of highs and lows, heart-stopping moments, and incredible displays of athleticism. When the final whistle blew, it was the Bolles Bulldogs who stood triumphant, picking up a monumental rivalry win with a final score of Bolles: 26 – Trinity: 21.

The stage was set, and Bolles was hungry for their first victory of the season. They wasted no time, taking the field with determination. Bolles received the opening kick-off and quickly marched down the field, moving the chains efficiently. The crowd erupted as #28, Emmett Grzebin, dashed into the end zone, putting the Bulldogs on the scoreboard first.

However, Trinity Christian was not about to let Bolles seize the momentum. With a swift response, Darnell Rogers orchestrated a scoring drive of their own, propelling the Conquerors into the lead, 7-6. The seesaw battle had begun.

Amidst the nail-biting tension, it was the Bolles defense that emerged as the unsung heroes of the night. Trent Carter showcased his skills with a remarkable pick-six, swinging the momentum back in favor of the Bulldogs at 14-7.

Trinity wasn’t ready to surrender, as Colin Hurley made an impressive drive deep into Bolles territory. But fate had other plans, as Darnell Jones fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by Simeon Caldwell of Bolles. The Bulldogs’ resilience was on full display.

As the first half came to a close, the teams were deadlocked at 14-14, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

The third quarter brought more excitement as dual-sport athlete DJ Moore, bound for Coastal Carolina, decided to join the scoring spree with a dazzling rushing touchdown, making it 20-14 in favor of Bolles.

The Bulldogs’ defense continued to shine, causing yet another fumble by Colin Hurley, which was scooped up by senior Trey Railey.

The Conquerors were desperate to make a play, but Bolles’ defense was unstoppable. Jalen Ross showcased his football IQ with a crucial interception, maintaining Bolles’ slim lead as the third quarter came to an end.

The fourth quarter was a rollercoaster ride as Trinity mounted a comeback. LSU commit Colin Hurley connected with Miles Buris for a touchdown, giving the Conquerors a 21-20 lead with just three minutes left on the clock.

But Bolles had one last trick up their sleeve. DJ Moore, proving why he’s one of Jacksonville’s top quarterbacks, led a spectacular drive. With precision passes and clutch plays, he connected with Chase Collier to keep the chains moving. In the end, DJ Moore ran the ball into the end zone for his second touchdown of the night.

The pressure was immense, but Trinity couldn’t find a way to stop the relentless Bulldogs. As the clock ticked down, Colin Hurley threw an ill-fated pass, intercepted by Simeon Caldwell.

When the final whistle blew, the Bolles Bulldogs erupted in celebration. They had recaptured their swagger and secured a hard-fought, memorable victory against their arch-rivals, the Trinity Christian Conquerors.

The final score, Bolles: 26 – Trinity: 21, etched a new chapter in this storied rivalry, leaving fans on the edge of their seats and memories that will last a lifetime. Bolles (1-3) travels to Oakleaf (2-0) next week. While Trinity Christian (2-2) travels to Lake City to face Columbia (0-3).
